He manages to kick both common sense life rhymes, hip-hop soulsonics, and fat jammies effortlessly. Mos Defs 'Black on Both Sides' is an album that has undoubtedly etched its name into hip hop history as one of the greats. You only thought you knew who Mos Def was or what his sound was like.
